This will be a very early night for me. This morning's class marked the 10th straight day of doing Bikram yoga! Only 50 more to go! Yeah.....I just got a bit nauseous typing that :(
My body and mind are definitely going through a transition. I can feel my body getting stronger. Muscles that I never knew existed, hurting. A few pounds have been shed, but I can see my body toning up and fast. Amazing how I have been practicing 4 months (3-5 classes/week), and how sped up the process of my body changing has become.
I thought Bikram was incredible before, but now I am entirely convinced. My mind is also growing in ways I never thought possible. I am still unsure of how exactly to put it into words to explain it to someone who has yet to try Bikram. I am more challenged each class than I ever have been before in my life. To push harder, go longer, and each day push myself to limits that I have never reached before. You see, Bikram as I'm sure all yoga is.. is about the process, the journey. There is no "end" destination.
After my first Bikram class I wanted to know more (I'm a dork like that), so I bought the book below to read all about Bikram Choudhury and Bikram yoga. It is a wonderful book that explains what I can't seem to about this amazing practice I have started. I am actually going to start reading it again.
I have a feeling that it may make a bit more sense this time!
"Give me 60 days and I'll change your life."
-Bikram Choudhury
Well, it has been a great first 10 days and I can't wait to see if there is any change when I write another blog after class #20. Until then, I am going to get some rest as I have to go to the 8am class tomorrow morning because of my busy day tomorrow :(
