A good read

34
Ever since I was a small girl, I have loved to read.  I remember when other kids were playing outside and doing other activities, I found solace in the library.  The smell of the books was intoxicating, the knowledge around me endless... I still enjoyed reading all the way up until I was accepted into college.  And like most college students will agree, between the endless amount of books you were required to read and working many hours at a restaurant in order to pay all my bills, the enjoyment was soon gone.  In my few years of corporate America at Kraft and Sysco Foodservice I also did not pick up my love for reading again.
Luckily, the beauty of our business involves reading constantly.  Not the fluffy little fiction books that I can read within hours, but wonderful books that expand your mind and teach you new things about yourself.  These books take me days and weeks to read.  Currently, I am reading a real whopper!
The Law of Success: The Master Wealth-Builder's Complete and Original Lesson Plan for Achieving your Dreams.  by: Napoleon Hill

Now, I call this a "whopper" because the book is 599 pages long!  I have NEVER in my life even attempted a book this large.  It really is a fantastic read.  I have to give kudos to one of our amazing mentors, Linda Duke for gifting this book to my husband.  Many of you may have heard of Napoleon Hill's famous book, Think and Grow Rich.  I have read this book at least three different times cover to cover and certain chapters multiple times!  The Law of Success is Napoleon's book that he published in 1928.  Think and Grow Rich is the abridged version of this large book.  The concepts talked about in Think and Grow Rich are given in MAJOR detail.  For example: The first Chapter is titled "The Master Mind" and is 60 pages long!  It will take me quite a while to read this fascinating and life altering book I am sure, but it is something I suggest for anyone who is looking to get to the next level in whatever they are doing!
Have a Blessed Sunday :)
