Mentors know best.

Mentor.  What does the word actually mean?  In Webster's Dictionary it states- n: a trusted counselor or guide: also : TUTOR, COACH.
In corporate America I do not think mentor-ship is used as frequently as it should be.  I believe that part of that is because in the work environment it is a "claw your way to the top" place.  A "get ahead" any way you can to make it to the top before someone else does.  The beauty of our business is that it is grown with comradery and synergy.  It is a perfect marriage of teamwork and everyone does whatever they can in order to help the other person succeed.
Mentors have been so critical to my and my husband's success in this business.  For example:  Last night, our mentor and good friend, Brian Bohlke was commenting on how much he liked my blog and challenged me.  Yes, another challenge!  I do love them these days :)  Brian challenged me to write a blog everyday, for 30 days.  And you know what?  Because he told me to do it, I will.  Even it is a short paragraph each day.
I have found that these mentors strive to grow you as a person, with no real benefit to themselves.  Last night I had another mentor of ours, Brian Penrod purposely stop me at our weekly meeting to tell me, "Don't stop what your doing Tarah.  There is a beast inside of you and you need to unleash it!"  WOW!  If that isn't motivating, I don't know what is!  He is top income earner in our company making THOUSANDS of dollars each WEEK and took time out of his busy day, to tell me what was on his heart.
It really is a Blessing that I have to use over two hands to count the many mentors that I have, both men and woman.  All of them are extremely successful in this business that I could call or meet with and talk about challenges I may be having.  Each one has the life WE WANT; plenty of money in the bank each week, the means to help as many people as they desire, the luxuries our business can afford, and a family where children enjoy life to its fullest and do not know what it means for their parents to have jobs.
Not one of them is benefited by what work I may do in my own business, they do it out of the kindness of their heart.  The funny thing is that having mentors isn't always a "fuzzy" friendship.  They don't always tell you things so you feel good about yourself (there IS plenty of that), but they will tell you things they notice that you need to work on.  Now, when you think about that it might make you mad.  No one wants to hear that how they are living their life isn't right or how they may need to change. It makes me mad again when I think about some of the things I have been told, but how are you to grow into your full potential unless you change?  But, WHAT IF if you listened to them because they have already been there, and IT DID change your situation?

A quote that comes to mind: "For things to change, you must change" -Jim Rohn

God did not make us perfect humans, we are all sinners.  I believe we are all put on this earth to figure out how to be better, how to help people, and make this world a better world for future generations.
After an AMAZING week in our business in where EXTRAORDINARY things are starting to take place I am noticing that I need to listen more to God and my mentors.  Success WILL follow.
